Curtis E. Swam

Curtis Eugene Swam, 95, of Glen Rock, PA passed away February 13, 2022. He was the loving husband of the late June Arlene (Young) Swam. Born March 2, 1926 in Freeland, MD, he was the son of Edwin and Elsie (Ensor) Swam. Curtis was a United States Army Air Corps Veteran, serving during WWII. He worked as a Machinist for Black & Decker in Hampstead, MD and retired after 34 years of service. He was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. He is survived by two children, Julia E. Good and Joseph M. Swam; two granddaughters, Amanda J. Keith and her husband Wayne and Elizabeth A. Swam.; he was preceded in death by his son, Melvin Swam and his five siblings Charles Jacob Swam, Donald Swam, Stewart Swam, Geraldine (Swam) Brown, and Pearl (Swam) Winemiller. A Viewing will be held Thursday, February 17th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. 2nd St. New Freedom, PA 17349. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 18th at 1:00 pm at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church; 20901 Mt. Zion Road, Freeland, MD with Rev. Dennis Schulze officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 20901 Mt. Zion Road, Freeland, MD 20153.
