Jeannette E. Nielsen

June 6, 1934 - March 24, 2022

On Thursday, March 24, 2022, the angels carried our loving Mother to heaven. Jeannette E. Nielsen, 87, of Stewartstown, PA, formally of St. George, UT and Baltimore, MD, died at Misericordia Nursing in York PA. Born on June 6, 1934, and raised in Baltimore, MD., Jeannette was the daughter of the late Gladys Z. Dean and the late Jerome W. Dean, Sr. She was employed at the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn, MD, from 1962 to 1985 where she worked as a Supervisory Computer Systems Analyst. On May 15, 1984, Jeannette married the love of her life, James “Clyde” Nielsen. She and Clyde moved to St. George Utah, where they happily spent their retirement years. They were active in the VFW, enjoyed golf, cocktail hour, playing bridge, pinochle and pitch and traveling to all 50 states. After Clyde’s death in January 2008, she returned to the East coast to be closer to her family. In 2011, she travelled to Italy with her daughter and son-in-law (Sue and Bill) to visit Rome, Florence and Venice - a once in a lifetime trip! She also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas with her sons, Steve and Tim. She was a life member of the VFW, Women’s Auxiliary and attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Freedom. Survived by her loving children, Susan Morin Follmer (William) of Stewartstown, PA, Stephen Morin (Karen Camhi) and Timothy Morin (Cristina) of Egg Harbor Twsp, NJ, stepdaughter Lisa Nielsen Baker (Charles) of Phoenix, MD, and stepson David Nielsen of CA. Also surviving is her brother Jerome Dean (Patricia Rust) of Halethorpe, MD, and grandchildren, Katina Kauffman (Lucas), Brittany Phala (Sefako), Julian Morin, Tristan Morin, Sarah Morin, Caroline Baker and Olivia Baker, and one great-granddaughter, Solène Phala.
