Alan W. Moore

Alan W. Moore, 60, of York, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at York Hospital after a long battle with kidney disease. Born in Baltimore, MD, Alan was the son of the late Ronald and Carol (Rooks) Moore, Sr.

Alan attended Susquehannock High School, where he enjoyed participating in numerous school plays and developed a love for performance and creativity. Following high school, he attended culinary arts school in Baltimore and went on to build a career as a chef. Throughout his career, Alan worked at several notable establishments, including Stouffer’s Hotel, The Ritz-Carlton, and Hayfields Country Club, among others. During his years in the culinary field, he also learned the art of ice sculpting and created many striking pieces for large events and special occasions. Outside of his professional life, Alan enjoyed playing golf and was a devoted fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens.

Alan is survived by his brother, Ronald Moore, Jr. (Debbie); sister, Lynda Knapp (Eric); stepsister, Doreen Bapisteller; and seven nieces and nephews: Laura (Phil), Liana, Kristin, Hope (Daniel), Joshua (Olivia), David (Blythe), and Janais.

Family and friends are invited to attend a one-hour visitation followed by a service on Friday, February 13, 2026. Visitation from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Service from 7:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363.
