Archie B. Hopkins

Archie Bradford Hopkins died in his home on 29-August, 2025 at age 101. He was pre-deceased by wife Anna, daughter Connee, father James, mother Nannie, sister Eula James and brothers Harold "Hop", Victor, Palmer, Bryce, and James Eugene, and granddaughter Lindsey. Survived by children Michael and Bonnie Hopkins, Gary Hopkins and Sandra Gomez, David Hopkins and Janice Virsack, Alan and MaryEllen Hopkins, Daughter-in-law Judy Hopkins, and grandchildren Stephen, Meekah, Kevin, Keith, Kyle, Wesley, Samantha, Charles, Aaron, Shannon, Aaron, Allison, Robbie, Nick, Jacob, Lacy, Aidan, Audrey, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

Archie grew up on a farm in Harford County Maryland where he learned self-reliance and an independent spirit. Raising 5 children he had worked at Southern States, the Glen L Martin Company, and settled into a career as a maintenance engineer at Diamond Shamrock Corp. He was an early adopter of computers and embraced new technologies. He was long married to a girl, who upon seeing announced, "She's for me!", had more than 70 wonderful years of play with her, and in his retirement, years spent much time caring for her. He loved the presence of his family and was graced to enjoy their coming to the celebration of his 100th birthday. He was very highly regarded by family and really everyone he met. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial Service is planned 11-October 1PM at Hartenstein Funeral Home, Stewartstown, PA. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the ARC Northern Chesapeake Region, 4513 Philadelphia Rd., Aberdeen, MD 21001.
