Arnold L. McCauley

d. February 10, 2026

Manchester, Maryland

Arnold Lewis McCauley, 63, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the foster son of the late Earl and Grace Heaps. Arnold was one of approximately 117 children fostered by the Heaps family.

Arnold received his high school certificate from Ridge Ruxton in Towson. He enjoyed motorcycles, playing video games, drawing, watching WWE, Nascar and Monster Jam. He was drawn to anything Native American and loved wolves. Another of the joys in his life was a good hot cup of coffee. Arnold enjoyed laughing and had a great sense of humor, he easily made friends wherever he went. One of his favorite early memories was going to cookouts at his foster family’s home. He was a strong, and independent person but also liked time to himself (maybe this was the wolf in him).

Arnold previously received both vocational and residential services from Penn-Mar Human Services beginning in the mid‑1980s, prior to his move to Autumn Lake at Longview. Arnold was proud of the jobs he held throughout the years he worked. During that time, he worked for several employers, including the Egyptian Stud Farm and Cintas. From 2004 until his transition to Autumn Lake at Longview, Arnold resided in one of Penn-Mar’s residential homes.

He is survived by his foster brothers, Charles Nickel and James Miller as well as many friends throughout his time at Penn-Mar Human Services and Autumn Lake at Long View. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
