Arthur H. Macqueen, 81, formerly of Towson, MD, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at SpiriTrust Lutheran, Shrewsbury. He was the loving husband of Eleanor L. (Eschmann) Macqueen and they celebrated 52 years of marriage June 2015. There will be a memorial service honoring Arthur’s life on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 3 PM at Towson Presbyterian Church, Towson, MD. Inurnment is private. The family will receive condolences in Thompson Hall following the service. Born March 12, 1935, in Sewickley, PA, he was the son of the late James Ronald and Margaret Merle (Ellis) Macqueen. Arthur proudly served in the U.S. Army; he went on to earn his BA in history from Muskingum Univ. and an Executive MBA from Loyola Univ. MD. He retired from Mark Downs Office Furniture, Cockeysville. A faithful member of the Towson Presbyterian Church, he had a love of music and participated in the church choir, as well as the Handel Choir of Baltimore. Surviving in addition to his wife are two children: John Charles Gibson, and his wife Penny; and Ruth Macqueen-Palmisano, and her husband Steven Palmisano; two grandchildren, Sophia and Peter Palmisano. He was preceded in death by three siblings: James Ronald “Bud” Macqueen Jr., Phyllis Gosnell, and William Macqueen.
