On Thursday, March 31, 2016, Benjamin C. Kilby, 62, of New Freedom, died at York Hospital after battling diabetes and Parkinson’s disease.He was the husband of Veronica (Clarke) Kilby for 18 years. Ben was born on March 19, 1954 in Maryland to Charles Kilby and the late Janet (Douglas) Kilby. He was a lineman for Baltimore Gas and Electric, which is now Constellation Energy, before he retired in 2000.In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, reading, doing puzzles and watching westerns. He is survived by his wife, father, three children, Mary Lanahan and her husband Leo, Jessica Kilby, and Thomas Kilby and his wife Katie; one step-son, Eric Bloom and his wife Elizabeth; four grandchildren, Dustin, Austin, J.T., and Olive; one sister Jane Sachs, in-laws, Robert and Carolyn Clarke, brother-in-law, Robert and sister-in-law, Debbie.He is also survived by two very special step-grandchildren, Christian and Ian Bloom, who have been very devoted to him throughout his illnesses until his passing.Their love and dedication has been nothing short of remarkable.
