Bernice K. Behr, 90 of White Hall, MD, a resident of 40 years, passed away on February 26, 2017 at Hospice of the Chesapeake, Pasadena, MD. Bernice was born on Nov. 1, 1926 and raised in Baltimore. After she graduated from Kenwood High School in Overlea, she went on to pursue a medical career at Greater Baltimore Medical Center and later working 22 years for 2 OB/GYN doctors. During this time while living in Towson, Bernice and her husband, Carroll were boating enthusiasts, naming their boat after their children, Kathy and John, hence “KAYJON’. She was a wonderful seamstress, loved baking, enjoyed working in her yard and was known for keeping an immaculate house. For the past four years Bernice has been a resident of Heart Homes in Annapolis, receiving excellent care and much love. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Carroll Behr. She is survived by her children, John S. Behr of White Hall and Victoria K. Harris-Bramble of Severna Park and 3 step-brothers, Gene, Robert and Allen Gemmill. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 3 from 10 to 11 am in JJ Hartenstein Mortuary, 19 South Main St., Stewartstown, PA, with a prayer service at 11 am. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pylesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy. Pasadena, MD. 21122.
