Betty Ann Adams

Betty Ann Adams, 101, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Born on February 13, 1925, in Washington, D.C. to the late Robert E. Varty and Katherine B. (Harlan) Mathiot. She was married to the late James Patrick Adams for 38 years.

She worked in the accounting department at Pepco for 25 years and as a resident manager for Cafritz Enterprises for 12 years. Betty was an avid gardener and voracious reader. She always stated her secret to longevity was “clean living.”

She is remembered by her son Jonathan “Jon” Adams (Tracy), grandchildren Evan Patrick Adams, Meghan Brooke Adams, and Kathleen Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her husband James Patrick Adams and a granddaughter Patricia Suzanne Schmidt.

Betty Ann will be laid to rest with her husband and WWII Veteran, James Patrick Adams. Inurnment will be held later at the convenience of the family in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
