Betty Lou Cox, 88, died Sunday, June 11, 2017 at SpiriTrust Shrewsbury after a long battle with dementia. She was the wife of the late Millard H. Cox to whom she had been married for over 66 years. There will be no viewing. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 16 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 13874 Winterstown Road, Rinely, followed by a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11 a.m. at Norrisville United Methodist Church, 2811 Church Lane, Norrisville, MD, with Rev. Melissa A. McDade officiating. Born August 8, 1928 in Norrisville, Betty Lou was the daughter of the late Cleve E. and Nettie V. (Douglas) Blevins. She was a 1945 graduate of Stewartstown High School and attended Strayer, Bryant, Stratton College in Baltimore. Betty Lou was employed with the former People's National Bank, now Wells Fargo, in Stewartstown for 30 years. Betty Lou was a life long member of Norrisville United Methodist Church and served as its financial secretary for 12 years. She also served as Secretary and Past President of the Program Resource of the Norrisville United Methodist Church Women's Society and on the Board of Elections as Judge and Committee Person of Hopewell Township for many years. Lowe and her husband, Dr. Ross Lowe, Jr.; identical twin grandsons, Todd H. Lowe and his fiancee, Shelly Miller and Craig H. Lowe; four great-grandchildren, Lauren Hess and her husband, Benny, Travis Lowe, Madelyn Lowe and Megan Lowe; and a great-great-granddaughter, Lillian Hess.
