Betty Jean Simon

Betty Jean Simon (Hicks), 87, of York, PA, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Betty was born in Groseclose, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Uyless Wade Hicks and Ethel Pauline (Dutton). Betty attended North Harford High School. She worked at the Stewartstown Sewing Factory then she went on to work for AMP where she retired from after 30 years.

Betty is survived by her two sisters Ava Tompkins (husband Richard) and India Spera, her two daughters-in-law Janice Simon and Judy Simon, her grandchildren Sabrina, Wesley, Ashley, Briar and Kacey, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two sons Stanley Simon and Steven Simon.

Betty loved to call her family and talk to them on the phone as much as she could.

Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family at the Norrisville United Methodist Cemetery.

Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St, New Freedom, PA, 17349 will be assisting the family with services.
