Carl H. Rumpf, Jr.

On March 30, 2026, Carl H. Rumpf Jr., beloved husband of 33 years of the late Elizabeth M. “Betty” Rumpf, dear father of Christa Apgar and her husband Rob Apgar, and Stephanie Gebhart and her husband Joseph Desenberg III, and devoted grandfather of Jackson Desenberg, passed away peacefully.

Carl had a very long career with BGE where he retired as a Benefits Analyst. Carl was a real numbers guy. He was a hard worker and most recently served as the Treasurer of the Hopewell Fish and Game Association where he made many friends who became like family to him. He loved helping people.

Carl loved vacationing with his late wife Betty at Hilton Head Island, SC and visiting Deep Creek Lake, MD. Carl loved his many animals, especially his faithful Boston Terrier, Raphael. 

Public visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. Immediately following the service, inurnment will take place in Highview Memorial Gardens in Fallston, MD.
