Catherine H. Ennis

Catherine (Cathi) Eileen Harman Ennis entered into Heaven on October 24, 2025.

Cathi was born December 7, 1949 to Edward J. Harman, Jr. and Harriet E. (Mellott) Harman.

Cathi was the wife to the late John L. Ennis with whom she shared 47 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Jim Ennis and Nikki Griggs, wife of Alex Griggs. Cathi was also the loving grandmother of Talen Perry, Kincaid Ennis, Oliver Griggs and Edison Griggs. She was the adopted grandmother of Alex and Krissie East.

Cathi graduated from York Suburban, Class of 1967. She was a secretary to William B. Anstine, Jr. of Anstine & Anstine for 18 years. While raising her children she worked part-time for Hartenstein Mortuary in New Freedom. She also worked as secretary to the principal at Susquehannock High School in Glen Rock and retired as an administrative assistant with Diversified Property Services, Inc. in Timonium, MD.

Hers was a life of service to others. Serving on many committees she volunteered at the churches she attended, serving as a youth group leader for many years with her husband and organizing women’s group events.

The most important thing in Cathi’s life was her family. She loved spending time with her son, daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. She loved to take road trips around the country and was especially fond of Rehoboth Beach where she would often vacation with her family. She enjoyed quilting and making gifts for those she loved.

A viewing will be held at Grace Fellowship Church, 74 E. Forrest Ave., Shrewsbury, PA 17361 on Saturday, November 1 from 10am – 12pm. The funeral service will begin at 12pm, officiated by Pastor Mark Fair. Burial will take place immediately following the service in New Freedom Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Fellowship Church, Shrewsbury, PA.
