David Stewart "Dave" Cameron, 75, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, in York, Pennsylvania, the city where he was born. Dave spent most of his adult life living on the family farm in Parkton, Maryland. Born on February 27, 1950, Dave was a steadfast presence in the lives of his family and community.
Dave was the son of Merle and Sarah Cameron, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his siblings Franklin "Frank" Cameron, Ronald "Ronnie" Cameron, and Pearl Wisner. He is lovingly remembered by his surviving siblings: Connie Hendrix; Larry Cameron and his wife Dorothy; William Cameron and his wife Debra; Linda Fair and her husband Steve; and Pam Walters and her husband Rick. Dave also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as extended family members and friends who loved and admired him deeply.
Though he never married or had children of his own, Dave played an extraordinary role in the lives of his nieces and nephews. He treated them as if they were his own children—teaching them to drive a tractor, care for animals, plant and harvest crops, and take part in the daily responsibilities of farm life. His steady guidance left a lasting impression on their lives, instilling values of hard work, responsibility, and compassion.
Dave’s working life reflected the same dedication he showed to his family. He began on the family farm where he developed a deep connection to the land and its rhythms. Later in life, he worked for many years at The American Insulator Company before continuing his career at York Imperial Plastics. In every role he held—whether in agriculture or manufacturing—Dave was known for being hardworking, dependable, and loyal.
He remained closely connected to his siblings throughout his life. Dave made it a point to reach out regularly to each one of them—a quiet but powerful testament to how much he valued family bonds.
David will be remembered not only for what he did but for how he lived—with humility, strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those around him. Our loss is heaven’s gain and we are eternally grateful for the years we had with him. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
