It is with profound sadness that the family of David M. Schnetzka, 76, of Fawn Grove, PA announce his passing on March 7, 2026. He has left behind his wife of 50 years Lydia Schnetzka, daughter Molly Schnetzka (Mike), son Jacob (Dawn) Schnetzka and step-grandchildren Caitlin (Colt), Haley, Kara and Kyle, as well as sisters Hilda Miller and Jacqueline Stohler (Frank) and a whole slew of nieces and nephews, (grands and great grands). He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Dorothy Schnetzka, sisters Verna Lutz and Mildred Orwig, brothers Lewis, Harold, Gorman, John and Eugene Schnetzka.
Dave was employed by Caterpillar Tractor for 30 years, and after retirement as world’s greatest delivery driver for True-Value Hardware store in Shrewsbury/Loganville.
He was a trapshooter for the York County league and the Northern Maryland league for many years. He loved cruising around on his 1970 Triumph motorcycle or his Harley Davidson Road King and later in life in his Chevy Silverado truck. One of his favorite places to be was at his cottage at Central Oak Heights terrorizing the other cottagers on his golf cart. He loved to go camping and traveled worldwide with his wife. Many hours were spent watching cowboy movies.
He was part of a Wednesday breakfast club which was the highlight of his week in recent years. He always had a nickname or witty remark to say to almost everyone he ever met. Dave loved talking to anyone and everyone that crossed his path.
Dave was able to help save another’s life through the donation of his liver through the Gift of Life program.
To quote Dave’s favorite song “We gotta get out of this place, if it’s the last thing we ever do”
Visitation will be held on Friday March 20th at Stewartstown United Methodist Church from 3-4:30 PM, service will be at 4:30 PM with a reception to follow. Dave’s wish was to be cremated, and his ashes spread at Central Oak Heights at the convenience of his family.
