DeEtta E. Wilson

DeEtta Elaine (Godfrey) Wilson, of Stewartstown, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. She was 85.

DeEtta was born to Leroy Godfrey and Meda Godfrey (Myers) on July 20, 1940, in York, Pennsylvania, and wife of late Richard Leroy Wilson (married January 21, 1960).

DeEtta was a “domestic engineer” in the truest sense. She was fully devoted to matters of the home – a nurturing mother, amazing cook, and tidy housekeeper. She faithfully and contentedly served as a farmer’s wife for more than two decades. Having Pennsylvania Dutch heritage, she kept all the members of the Wilson household well-nourished and well-fed. DeEtta was a crafter. She sewed clothing, crocheted countless blankets (still being enjoyed by grandchildren and great-grandchildren), and a host of other seasonal projects. She will be remembered as a faithful wife and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

DeEtta is survived by her two children Kimberly Johnson and husband William of Stewartstown, and Bryan Wilson and wife Dreama of Delta. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister Colletta Keeney. DeEtta delighted in her five grandchildren: Megan Wilcox (husband Patrick), Lauren Peters (husband Wes), Marlena Crain (husband Thomas), Vincent Wilson (wife Leanne), and John Wilson (wife Carolyn). Her eight great-grandchildren include Linus Peters, Mathias Crain, Eoin Wilcox, Gilbert Peters, McKenzie Wilson, Grayson Crain, Landon Wilson, and Estella Wilson

DeEtta’s family will host family visitation on Friday, February 13, 2026, beginning at 2 PM, with celebration of life service to follow. The service will be at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA.
