Doris M. Seitz

Doris Mae (Edie) Seitz, 98, died at Wellspan York Hospital on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. She was the wife of the late Herman V. Seitz who passed away in 1991.

Doris was born May 16, 1927 at York Hospital, a daughter of the late Harry A. and Carrie (Wilson) Edie. She attended Hollidaysburg High School where she was a cheerleader. She graduated from John Harris High School and from the Central Pennsylvania Business College in Harrisburg. After graduation she worked at the Personal Finance Co. in Harrisburg.

After her marriage, Doris moved to Stewartstown where she worked part time at the 1st National Bank until the birth of her son Jay V. Seitz. She previously was a bookkeeper for Miller’s Sales and Service. She retired from AMP (Tyco) in 1989 as a production clerk. She worked part time at the Rite Aid Pharmacy. Doris was a member of the Stewartstown United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society, and the Eureka Volunteer Fire Co.

Doris is survived by her son Jay and his fiancé Lenka Rasovsky,; one brother Harry A. Edie, Jr., and his significant other Brenda Harmon; a grandson Kevin Seitz and his wife Kathleen; a great-grandson Caleb Seitz; a great-granddaughter Elizabeth Seitz; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter in law Linda J. Seitz

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, July 1 at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363 from 10-11am. A Celebration of Life will start at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow in Stewartstown Cemetery.
