Dwight J. "Whitey" Wilt, Sr.

Dwight J. “Whitey” Wilt, Sr., 68, of Seven Valleys, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Born in Hanover, he was a son of the late Leroy Edward and Grace Virginia (Winand) Myers. He was the husband of Shirley M. (Sweitzer) Wilt.

Whitey was a 1974 graduate of York VoTech. After graduating, he joined the Army and served for two years. He then went to work for Kemper Masonry for many years and also helped around his community by mowing for Bethlehem Steltz Church and Susquehannock High School. Whitey enjoyed collecting baseball cards and reading the newspaper. He liked watching NASCAR and loved to read; especially old westerns.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two sons, Dwight “DJ” Wilt, Jr., and Matthew Wilt; one granddaughter, Georgia Wilt; three siblings, Lowell Wilt (Lisa), Virginia “Ginny” Houseman (Kevin), and Phylis Sigrist (Jay); and his father, Clayton “Pappy” Myers.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Please check back for service information.
