Ellsworth Joseph Jones, Jr.

Ellsworth "Buddy" Joseph Jones, Jr. of Shrewsbury, PA, passed away on July 15, 2025.

Born on July 24, 1944 in Spangler, PA, Buddy was the son of the late Ellsworth Sr. and Evelyn Ruth (Schilling) Jones. He was the husband of the late Kathleen T. (Johnson), they were married for 55 years. He was a United States Army veteran.

Buddy loved golfing, going to the beach and cruising in his black Corvette. He participated in sports in his younger years and later enjoyed watching his grandchildren play their sports.

Buddy is survived by his three children Elizabeth Ratchford (Daniel), Brian Jones (Johana Vieira), and Christopher Jones, five grandchildren Ryan, Brendan, Ava, Katie and Matthew; four siblings Shirley Smorada, Allen Jones, Kathy Jo Jones and Lori Mazzella. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Jones.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday, July 28, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.  A Graveside Service will immediately follow at 11:00 am in St. John The Baptist Cemetery.
