Emma F. Tomasic (Finyo)

Emma F. Tomasic, 79, died Monday, July 25, 2016 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, Shrewsbury. She was the wife of the late Edward T. Tomasic. Viewings will be held from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm on Sunday, July 31 at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. The funeral service will begin at 11 am on Monday, August 1 at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, with the Rev. Sylvan P. Capitani officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born October 4, 1936 in McKeesport, Emma was the only child of the late Michael and Emma (Hrehocik) Finyo. Emma was a lifelong resident of Shrewsbury and a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church where she was active on parish council and served as a religious education teacher. She was a former member of Bon Air Country Club in Glen Rock and dearly loved her grandchildren. Surviving are her sons, Alan E. Tomasic and his wife, Janet of Reisterstown, Md., Raymond J. Tomasic and his wife, Mary of Columbia, Md., and David M. Tomasic and his wife, Kimberly of New Freedom; and 10 grandchildren, Jennifer M., John A., Lauren M., Christine R., Madison J., Megan A., Melanie K., Michael A., Benjamin A. and Kate E. Tomasic.
