Franklin “Frank” J. Zeller, Jr., 75, of New Freedom, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025. Born in York, Pa, he was the son to the late Franklin J. Sr. and Geraldine (Butcher) Zeller. He was the loving husband to Barbara A. (White) Zeller.
Frank attended Susquehannock High School and completed Barber school in York. He was the local barber in New Freedom for over 50 years. Frank enjoyed crabbing in Bush River, but his favorite spot to spend time at was Prettyboy Dam where he just enjoyed nature and his favorite fishing spot. He enjoyed antiquing, collecting, and restoring furniture. He was a huge history buff, especially when it came to Gettysburg. Frank was also an Orioles fan. Above all, he loved his family; he was a beloved husband, proud father of two boys, and a wonderful grandfather.
Frank is survived by his wife, Barb; two sons, Josh Zeller (aka Father John Paul Mary, MFVA Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word), John Zeller (Joy); step-children, Jenny (Dave), Mike (Jen), Heather; grandchildren, Melanie, Makenzie, Trinity, Matthew (Molly), Jason, Mark, Colton, Delanie, Michalah, Nathan, Jack; great-granddaughter, Mia; nephews, Jason, Justin, and Greg Ingoe; sister, Victoria Flemmens. He is also remembered by Dan (Ashley).
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 9-10:30am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, Pa 17349. The funeral Mass will begin at 10:30am at the church. All are also welcome to a Celebration of Life service at Grace Global United Methodist Church, 55 Albright Dr, Hanover, PA 17331, on Wednesday, September 17th at 10:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word, 5821 Old Leeds Rd., Irondale, AL 35210.
