Gary W. Collins

Gary Wayne Collins, 78, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Born in Bigstone Gap, VA, he was the son of the late Jesie W. and Nora W. Collins. He was the loving husband to Carolyn “Carol” P. (Paglia) Collins.

Gary had many interests and hobbies, some of which included playing pool, riding motorcycles with Carol, skiing, sailing, playing golf, and target shooting. He also enjoyed classic cars, listening to Elvis and The Rolling Stones, and traveling on cruises. Mainly he was a family man, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; 2 daughters, Pam Barone (Joe), and Maria Moxley (Brian); 7 grandchildren, Alex (Bri), Devin (Dakota), Miranda (Justin), Sofia (Tim), Kirsten, Cloe (Adam), and Gavin; 7 great grandchildren, Carmela, Cassidy, Marigold “Goldie”, Bobby, Dawson, Brooks, Riley, and 1 great grandson on the way; and his fur baby Prince. He was preceded by his parents, and 7 fur babies, Baby, Lucky, Sinatra, Casper, Bunny, Marty, and Pepper.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 1-3pm & 6-8pm at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, Pa 17349. A second viewing will be on Saturday, October 24 from 10-11am with the funeral service starting at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
