Gerald "Gerry" Henson

Gerald “Gerry” L. Henson, 71, became an Angel on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at his residence, surrounded by love.

He was the loving husband to Stef, sharing 25 wonderful years together.

Gerry was born on November 1, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Joseph and Mary Henson.

Gerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and later built a life centered around hard work, family, and the simple things he loved. For more than 30 years, he owned and operated Henson Construction before eventually becoming a truck driver, a job that allowed him to spend many miles on the road with his beloved late dog, Jack, by his side. Gerry was a simple man who found happiness in life’s everyday moments. He enjoyed shooting pool, taking his dogs for walks, and, most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart.

In addition to his wife, Gerry is survived by three children, Christopher Henson, Adelyn Rotz, and Tanner Crone (Tealy); four grandchildren, Destiny Henson, Nevaeh Henson, Annabell Crone, and Farin Rotz; beloved fur babies, Ted and Bob, and his father and mother in-law, Bob and Becky Snelbecker.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9 N. Main Street, Dover. Full military detail, presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard, will begin at 10:45 a.m., immediately followed by a memorial service with Pastor Abby Lease officiating. A time of fellowship will be held at the church following the service.
