Harold E. Trimpey

Shrewsbury - Harold Eugene Trimpey, 90, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. He was the husband of Sherrill (Kreeger) Trimpey. Harold was born September 3, 1928 in York to the late Ellis G. and Mable (Hauf) Trimpey. He lived his whole life in Shrewsbury; graduated from West York High School. Harold worked in the field office of Charles G. Summers Jr. Inc. Cannery in New Freedom. He is a United States Army Veteran whom served his country with the Military Police in Germany, during the Korean War. He began his career as an apprentice at John C. Molter Printing Press Co. in York. Graduated from Penn State with an Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at many of the former AMP Plants in Southern York and Lancaster County; ending his career at the Headquarters in Harrisburg. He was a member of Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company serving as a Fire Police for several years; past Worshipful Master of Shrewsbury Lodge No. 423 Free & Accepted Masons. He was also a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Shrewsbury, serving on the Council for several years. Harold enjoyed the outdoors and big game hunting in PA mountains, as well as, other western, southern states and Canada. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends to Europe and Asia. In addition to his wife, he leaves two children Paula E. Trimpey of Reading and Aaron John Trimpey and his wife Connie of Glen Rock; two grandchildren Aaron Samuel Trimpey of Glen Rock and Kristen Ann LeCompte, her husband Eric, and one great grandson Landon John LeCompte, all of New Freedom. A public viewing will be held on Friday, October 19th, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm at St. John (Sadler's) Lutheran Church, 2916 Sadler's Church Rd. Stewartstown, PA 17363. A funeral service will begin at 2:30 pm on Friday, October 19th at the church with the Rev. Sterling Fritz officiating. Interment with a flag folding ceremony provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Shrewsbury. Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom is assisting the family with services.
