Helen L. (Watts) Freemon, 99, passed away peacefully at SpiriTrust in Shrewsbury on Friday, July 17, 2026. Born in Carmel, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Elizabeth (Heather) Watts. She was the loving wife to the late Robert E. Freemon who passed on March 20, 2000.
Helen lived a long and happy life. She loved spending time with her family, especially their annual trips to Emerald Isle Beach in North Carolina. Helen was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband; she never left his side. For a short time, she worked for American Airlines and absolutely loved being able to travel and see new places. She attended the Tabernacle Baptist Church in New Bern, NC and the First Baptist Church in Hyattsville, MD. Helen had many hobbies and interests, but she truly enjoyed being a member of the Bridge Club and exercising every day. Helen was a strong, loving, devoted, and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and daughter throughout her years with us.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Reif and her husband Mike; 4 grandchildren, Spencer, Hayley, Casey, and Tanner; and 2 great-grandchildren, Nora, and Nolan. She was preceded by her husband, Robert; son, Edward Freemon; daughter, Katherine Freemon; brother, William Watts; and sister, Ann Green.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 25 at 11am at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363. Interment will be private.
