Helen Elizabeth (Kidd) Zeigler, 93, died Saturday, May 27, 2017 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Maurice Zeigler. A public viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30 at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31 at the Mortuary with the Rev. John C. Dorr, Jr. officiating. Private interment at Pine Grove United Methodist Cemetery in Parkton, MD will take place at the convenience of the family. Born July 5, 1923 in Parkton, MD, Helen was a daughter of the late Harry and Mabel (Wiley) Kidd. She attended Trinity United Methodist Church in New Freedom since she was five years old and was a member of the Trinity Book Club. Helen was a former employee of the Bendix Corp. in Baltimore, MD. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, ballroom dancing, playing golf, and was especially good at playing cards. She is survived by her children, Robert Zeigler, Libby Hosier and her husband, Ronald, and Carlean Jacque and her husband, Mark, all of Glen Rock; step children, Daniel Zeigler and his wife, Janice of Merrimack, NH, and Carolyn Miller and her husband, Lamar of Glenville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by a brother, Charles Kidd of McHenry, MD; and three sisters, Jean Lowe of Katy, TX, Margaret Tate of Chandler, AZ, and Ruth Jowais of Palm Coast, FL. Helen was preceded in death by a step son, David Zeigler; and siblings, Harry Kidd and Dorothy Stephen.
