On March 24, 2026, Herman Owen Hall, Jr. died peacefully at his home in New Freedom, Pennsylvania surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 23, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland to his late parents Herman Owen, Sr. and Frances (Sadler) Hall. The majority of his youth was spent in Hillendale, Maryland.  Herman is survived by his wife of 26 years, Colleen L. Hall.  Also surviving Herman are four nieces :  Lisa Battaglia, Michele Bane, Kelly Sparks and Angelina Sheeler. Herman was predeceased by his sister Catherine Frances.

Herman was inducted into the United States Air Force in 1963. After 4 years of devoted and dedicated service to his country, Herman received his Honorable discharge in 1967. Herman went on to work for 13 years at Becton Dickinson in Cockeysville, Maryland as Supervisor of In-House printing. After Becton Dickinson closed their print shop, Herman went into partnership with J. Kurt Eikenburg at Winterhawk Graphics, Inc. He retired in 2004.

Herman sought out opportunities to help people. He volunteered at the Spirit Trust Lutheran Home for over 10 years and at H.O.P.E. for 22 years. As a hobby, Herman loved designing and maintaining beautiful flower gardens, although, his favorite enjoyment in all the world was his artistic painting. He attended classes at the South Central York Senior Center for several years up until the day before he passed. Landscapes were his specialty.

Herman was the overseer of  the Jewels Sr. Social Club for a number of years, and also served as President of the Wethersfield Condominium Association until the day he died.  Herman will be remembered as a man with a great sense of humor, a gentle disposition and an incredibly compassionate heart. Herman Owen Hall, Jr. will be GREATLY missed.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 11:00a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, Pa 17349). The family will welcome friends from 10 to 11:00a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
