Horton Clyde Peters

Horton Clyde Peters, 92, of Stewartstown, died April 13, 2026.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. The service will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2026, at Antioch 1611 Baptist Church, 18954 Ridge Meadow Road, Stewartstown.

Interment will be in the adjoining, New Bethel Baptist Cemetery, Stewartstown.

Horton was born February 28, 1934, in Gate City, Va., the son of the late William and Bessie (Lane) Peters. He was the husband of the late Dorothy L. Peters, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.

He worked as a self-employed contractor and owner of H.C. Peters Construction in Stewartstown for many years prior to his retirement in 2023. He enjoyed working, gardening and mowing the grass.

He is survived by a daughter Melissa R. Peters and a son Jason R. Peters, both of Stewartstown; 7 siblings Hobart, Ivan, Maxie, Rachel, Nancy Lee, Nicie, and Eloise. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
