James K. "Chip" Hazlett

On Sunday, October 14, 2018, James K. “Chip” Hazlett, 31, passed away suddenly in Glen Rock.He was the son of Katharine Kincaid and the late Thomas J. Hazlett, Jr.Chip was born on January 24, 1987, in Miami Beach, FL. He resided in Maryland; Terceira Island, Portugal; and Pennsylvania. James graduated from Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, VA, in 2006 and from York Technical Institute as an electrician; he achieved the level of journeyman in 2017. He was a faithful son, brother, friend, and loving dad. He will be missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his mother, Katharine; siblings, Thomas J. Hazlett, III, Vanessa Mummert and her husband Jon, Aubrey Dyer and her husband Nathan, Shaun Dedrickson and his wife Kate, and Stephanie Dedrickson; five nieces and nephews, Bentley, Silas, Lucas, Evelyn and Oren; and he is also survived by Jennifer Thompson and her son Cayden Muller.He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents. A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, October 22, from 6:30 p.m. until a memorial service begins at 7 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church, 74 E. Forrest Ave., Shrewsbury, with Rev. Mark E. Fair officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in James’ memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
