James Ross McGinnis

James Ross McGinnis of Fawn Grove, PA passed away on January 3, 2026 after a brief illness. He was born in New Park on May 7, 1928, the only child of the late James Mont and Clara (Miller) McGinnis.

Ross graduated from Princeton University in 1949 and Harvard Law School in 1952. Upon completion of his service in the United States Air Force, he became a partner in the firm of Stock and Leader in York, PA. He practiced law for 67 years and held the distinction of being the oldest practicing attorney in York County.

Ross was a life-time member of Centre Presbyterian Church in New Park, PA and was a dedicated member of numerous civic and fraternal organizations.

Survivors include his wife, Norma, and two sons, James McGinnis, Jr. and Mark Douglas McGinnis(Margaret), as well as 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Services will be private.
