James E. Robertson

James Edward Robertson, Jr., 87, died Thursday, May 25, 2017, at home. He was the loving husband of the late Marilyn Ann (McVicker) Robertson. There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 1 at the Mortuary, with Rev. Melissa A. McDade officiating. Entombment will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, York. James was born in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late James E. Robertson, Sr. and Katherine Evelyn (Keene) Robertson. He was a Baltimore Co. police officer for many years and also worked in maintenance for Towson University and various apartment complexes in Cockeysville, MD. James enjoyed cookouts, fishing, family gatherings, and telling stories. Surviving are four children, James E. Robertson, III, Dennis D. Robertson, Michael J. Robertson, and Janelle E. Barnes; grandchildren, Jamie and Jared Beck, Jodie and Dan Frey, Chris, Jonathon, David Paul, Bailey, Kendra, Michael, Carly, Robertson and Brandon, Tiffany, and Joseph Barnes; great-grandchildren, Destiny Barnes and Brayden and Mason Frey; and sisters, Ann Robertson and Evelyn Reed. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Robertson; brothers, Henry G. and Harvey Robertson; and a great-grandson, Weston Barnes.
