Jeanette E. Day

Jeanette E. Day, 93, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 surrounded by family. She was the wife of the late Junior W. Day. Jeanette was born in Freeland, MD in 1925 to the late Clarence and Edith (Koller) Miller. She was a longtime resident of New Freedom prior to moving to Ohio. She was a charter member of the Triangle Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star #483, Shrewsbury, and members of both Ladies Aux. VFW Post #1079 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aux. #431 of Elyria, OH. Jeanette is survived by her son James R. Day and wife Carol of Elyria, OH; a brother Carl Miller and wife Betty of Freeland, MD; a sister-in-law Linna Walker and husband Elwood of Red Lion, PA; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend and companion Elmer Norris of Elyria, OH. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 5, 2018 at 1:00PM from Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom with Pastor Kara Togel officiating. Interment will follow in New Freedom Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 11AM until the time of her service on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Jeanette’s memory.
