Jesse D. Arnold

Jesse D. Arnold, 69, died with his children by his side on Thursday, August 4, 2016. He was the husband of the late Barbara J. (Wilson) Arnold. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, August 8, 2016 at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the mortuary on Tuesday, with the Rev. Joel N. Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Freeland, MD. Born January 20, 1947 in Yoe, York County, Jesse was a son of the late Wilford K. and Esther C. (Mitzel) Arnold. Jesse was employed as a welder with Garrod Hydraulics, Inc., in York since 2007. He was a life member of Hopewell Fish & Game Association, Inc., Stewartstown and assisted as a hunting safety instructor. He was also a life member of the NRA and a member of Dry Run American Legion Post #232, Spring Run. Jesse enjoyed time in the mountains, hunting and fishing, and was an avid camper. Jesse is survived by his children, Jerry S. Arnold of Felton and S. Joann Arnold of York; and his siblings, Fae Adams of New Freedom, Jeannie Manning of Strinestown, Judy Hash of New Park, James and Ray Arnold, both of Stewartstown and Wilford "Butch" Arnold, Jr. of Airville. In addition to his wife, Jesse was preceded in death by three siblings, George Arnold, Patricia Blevins and Dave Arnold.
