Joan L. "Joanie" Vinup

On May 4, 2017, Joan L. “Joanie” Vinup, 61, passed away at York Hospital. A funeral service will be at 10 am on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. Interment will follow in Centre Presbyterian Cemetery, New Park. Pastor James L. Biller will officiate. Joanie was born November 10, 1955 in York to the late Margaret L. (McElwain) and William B. Vinup, Jr. She was a 1973 graduate of Kennard Dale High School, then received her LPN at York VoTech. She was a LPN for 20 years, working in Baltimore, MD and York. She also worked for DynKePro of York for 11 years in the medical records department. She moved to Anchorage, AK and became a benefits specialist with TriCare, assisting military retirees. She was a life member of Centre Presbyterian Church in New Park. Joanie is survived by one brother, Thomas W. Vinup and his wife, Patricia; Uncle Jim Vinup and his wife Marie; and several cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are recommended to Animal Rescue, PO Box 35, Maryland Line, MD 21105.
