Joan Carol (Neumann) Kuba, 82, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Albert O. and Lillian I. (Plitt) Neumann. She was the loving wife to the late George Kuba.
Joan was a graduate of Western High School in Baltimore. She was a lifetime member to the Violetville United Methodist Church where she used to live. She was very involved in the Violetville community where she volunteered with multiple community programs. She also spent a lot of time volunteering for the Don Miller House. Joan also worked in the medical billing department for St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore and for Doctors Lancelotta, Soloman, and Jamaris.
Joan is remembered by her three daughters and son-in-laws, Milmarie Ellington (Patrick), Leah Hayes (Mark), Mary Nace (Larry); 10 grandchildren, Alexandra Ellington, Conor Ellington, Ethan Hayes, Holden Hayes, Hunter Ellington, Owen Hayes, Jackson Hayes, Nickolas Nace, Jorga Nace, Spencer Nace; two siblings, Bo Neumann, and Diane Neumann. She is also remembered by her loving family and friends at Manor Care at Kingston Court.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Hartenstien Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, Pa 17349 from 11:30am-1pm. The funeral service will begin at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the famliy. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Joan’s memory to Manor Care at Kingston Court Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center in York for their activities department, 2400 Kingston Ct., York, PA 17402.
