John Joel Benedictos Sayo

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished husband and father, John Joel Benedictos Sayo, who passed away peacefully on November 1st, 2025 at the age of 50.

John Joel was born in Plaridel Bulacan, Philippines on November 23, 1974 to Pepito and Maria Sayo. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 17 years, Marion May Sayo, and a loving father to his children, Haley, Alessandra and Samantha. He also leaves behind his grandchild, Callie, and his brothers, Lito, Jessie, and Pepito Jr.

John worked as a Bulking/Formulation Operator at BD for over 10 years and was known for his kindness, dedication, positive attitude, and work ethic. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, driving around in his motorcycle, having fun with family and friends, and singing karaoke. He was an active member of St. John the Baptist and the Knights of Columbus, Sto. Nino Council. His warmth, generosity, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

There will be a viewing on Thursday, November 6, 5-8pm at Hartenstein & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363. A memorial mass to honor John's life will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, PA 17349, on Friday, November 7th at 11:00.
