On Monday, January 21, 2019 John Licharowicz (affectionally known as Panda by his family) passed away peacefully and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born and raised in Baltimore, John was the son of Helen Licharowicz and the late Joseph Licharowicz. He left behind three loving siblings Debbie Detwiler, Jim Licharowicz, and Susan Licharowicz. Nothing was more precious to John than his wife and children. He is survived by his lifelong love, companion, and wife of 29 years, Melissa and his four children, Isaac, Hannah, Phoebe, and Judah. He was an excellent son, a beloved brother, a loving husband, and a sweet father. John spent over 20 years as a defense contractor and worked in the U.S. Department of Defense during the last 5 years of his life. He considered it a great privilege and honor to serve his country in silence. John was an avid learner, debater, and renaissance man. He delighted in literature and passionately listened to music of countless genres. He also had a fondness for cooking, baking, and creating recipes. One of John’s chief delights was to share these loves with his family and friends. He was dedicated to his family, friends, and country. And his life reflected that. Behind all these things was his faithful service to God – he devoted his life to Christ at a young age and led his family to do the same. The family will receive visitors on Monday, January 28th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Hartenstein Funeral Home, 24 N. Second Street, New Freedom, PA 17349.
