John William Rehmeyer, 73, of Dover, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 17, 2025. Born on April 8, 1952, he was the son of the late George William Rehmeyer and Mabel L. (Freeman).
John was a man who worked with his hands and led with his heart. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to farming and truck driving—careers that reflected his strong work ethic, resilience, and steady reliability. Those who knew him admired not only how hard he worked, but how quietly and humbly he did so.
Beyond his work, John carried a deep appreciation for life’s simple gifts. He loved woodworking, and the pieces he crafted were more than objects—they were reflections of his creativity, patience, and care. Time spent fishing brought him peace, allowing him to slow down and enjoy the calm of nature. His fascination with steam engines and old-time machinery showed his curiosity and appreciation for history, while his excitement for NASCAR revealed the spirited, fun-loving side that family and friends cherished.
At the center of John’s world was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sue A. Rehmeyer, who walked beside him through every season of life. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. He is also survived by his children—Susan Fetrow (Scott), Allen Rehmeyer (Holly), Angela Wood (Tyler), and Corey Wedge and he carried immeasurable joy in watching them grow, succeed, and build families of their own.
He was blessed with eight grandchildren—William (Marley), Nathan (Amelia), Christian, Patrick, Duke, Jake, Kason, and Roshanna—each one holding a special place in his heart. His great-granddaughter, Stella Fetrow, brought an extra light into his later weeks, filling his days with smiles and renewed wonder.
To those who loved him, John will be remembered as steady, gentle, and deeply kind—a man who listened more than he spoke, who gave more than he asked for, and who found happiness in the moments that mattered most. His legacy lives on not only in the family who adored him, but in the countless memories he leaves behind.
John William Rehmeyer’s life was a quiet testament to love, loyalty, and the beauty of simple joys. He will be missed beyond measure and remembered with heartfelt gratitude by all who were blessed to know him.
