Joyce M. McCallister, 90, died Thursday, November 26, 2015,at the home of her daughter, Margaret R. Brannon. She was the wife of the late J. Edward McCallister. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday, December 3, at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom. The funeral liturgy will begin at 12 noon Thursday at the church with the Rev. Anthony R. Dill officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, Joyce was the daughter of the late Sydney and Hilda (Robinson) Farley. Joyce was a member of the Women's Land Army during World War II. She was a war bride and had moved to the U.S. following the war. She had been employed a number of years with the former Stewartstown Sewing Factory, the former Super Thrift/Houston's Grocery Store of Stewartstown, and had retired from both the former AMP, Inc. (Tyco) of Shrewsbury and the Rite Aid Pharmacy of Stewartstown. In addition to her daughter, Margaret R. "Maggie" Brannon of Felton, she leaves two sisters, Frances Kemp of Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, England, and Margaret Cooper of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England; a daughter-in-law, Fawn McCallister; four grandchildren, Justine Shaull, Adam McCallister, Jolene Plummer, and Angela Miller; and four great-grandchildren, Ryan and Nicole McCallister, Kayla Shaull, and Levi Miller.
