Karen M. Baker

Karen M. Baker (Ziegler), 63, of Shrewsbury, passed away on March 4, 2026. Born July 23, 1962, Karen was the beloved daughter of Joseph C. Ziegler, Sr. and Deanna L. Salkowski.

Karen most recently worked as an associate at Giant Foods in Shrewsbury. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her unwavering dedication to family and friends, and her willingness to always go out of her way to help anyone in need. Karen found great joy in cooking meals and bringing loved ones together, creating many lasting memories around the table. She especially loved spending time with her family on vacations where many treasured memories were made.

Karen was preceded in death by her second husband, Thomas S. Baker. She is survived by her children: Tedd V. Schuler, Jr.; Kristi M. Viands (Schuler) and her husband, Nathaniel; and Dena L. Schuler and her significant other, Brian Albertelli. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Ziegler Alcaraz; brother Mark J. Ziegler and his wife Claire; brother Joseph C. Ziegler, Jr.; and many cherished grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, March 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care (24 N. Second St. New Freedom, PA 17349).

Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am. Procession to New Freedom Cemetery will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital in Karen’s honor. 

Karen’s warmth, generosity, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
