Karen Marie Heintz, 64, died Sunday, May 8, 2016, at York Hospital. She was the wife of Steve G. Buttner. A viewing will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2016, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA. The service will begin at 8 p.m. Friday at the Mortuary with Fr. Michael T. Buttner officiating. Cremation to follow the service. Karen was born November 23, 1951, in Baltimore, Md., a daughter of Helen Heintz of Sebring, Fla. and the late Melvin Heintz. Karen retired from M & T Bank in 2006 after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Collinsville Community Library and its Friends Group. She also was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and quilting. Karen and Steve celebrated 24 years of marriage in 2015. Surviving are two brothers, David Heintz and his wife Joyce of Moffat, Colo. and Thomas Heintz of Maryland; and a sister, Kathy Phelan and her husband Regis of Maryland. She was predeceased by a sister, Christine Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Collinsville Community Library, 2632 Delta Road, Brogue, PA 17309.
