Kathleen M. Finley, aged 81, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center. Originally from Aitkin, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late Larry S. and Mae N. (Cheney) Taylor. She was married to the late Newton Finley, who passed away in April of 2024, and was the sister of Jeffrey Taylor, who passed away in June of 2018.
Kathy graduated from Aitkin High School and later received training in data entry and keypunching. She started her career in Minneapolis, MN at IBM as a keypunch operator. In 1975, Kathie relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, to work at the Control Data Corporation, and worked there for over 25 years, retiring as an operations manager. She ultimately relocated to York, PA, where she had two careers thereafter: one as a school bus driver for the York County School Division, and one as a hospital receptionist at Wellspan York Hospital.
Kathie was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians, often attending the Indians’ training camp each spring with her husband. She loved her two dogs, CB and Buddy Boy. Throughout her life, Kathy enjoyed many things, especially food. Her favorite restaurant was Red Lobster, and she liked snacking on olives and ham, always paired with a cup of coffee. A kind and loving woman, she cherished her family and friends and was affectionately called Grandma Kathy by many.
She is survived by her two sons, Scott and Larry Jay (LJ) Wallace; son-in-law, Kama Tillman; four grandchildren, Sabina Angeleen Wallace, Jeremiah Tillman-Wallace, Marcelina Conrad, and Christi Tillman-Wallace; great-grandchildren, Mason Tillman-Wallace, Antonio Morel, Feyre Conrad, Eira Conrad, and Suriel Conrad; and cousins, Linda (Schmitz) Lilly and Ann Mansur. Kathie was also a maternal figure to several bonus children through her late husband, Newton.
