Lawrence H. Entler, Sr., fondly known as Larry to those who knew him, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026. Born on September 13, 1946, in York, Pennsylvania. He was surrounded by family and friends in his passing.
Larry was an Army Veteran serving in Vietnam, 1969-1970. Larry was a member of the Parkton American Legion Post #256, serving as commander multiple years. In addition, he was a member of the honor guard for post #256. He was also a member of the New Freedom VFW.
Being an advocate for helping those in need, especially fellow veterans, was something that was important to Larry. He took pride in his country and our flag. Noticing a flag in disrepair in a cemetery he would soon have a new one in its place. Larry loved giving back to the community and helping his neighbors. In such ways as being an assistance scout master for BSA troop #523.
Larry is survived by his partner Lucy Greer, his son Larry H. Entler, Jr (Bonnie), Stepsons Sterling (Rick) Stambaugh(Jennifer), David Stambaugh, Timothy Stambaugh, Jessie Greer and Daniel Greer, his grandchildren Wyatt Entler (Brianna), Kadence Entler, his step grandchildren, Lucas Stambaugh, Jacob Stambaugh, Hannah Stambaugh, Kiersten Stambaugh, Lexus Stickles (Roy), and Rylan Stambaugh, his great grandson Weston Entler, his siblings Viola Clum (Robert), Peggy Markle (Gordon), Donna Barton, Alan Brent, Charlie Brent (Kathleen), Patricia Garvin, Sharon Barton (Richard) and Sharon Cannon.
Preceded in death by Mother Esther Brent (King), former wife Peggy Entler (Johnson), daughter Lorrie Kay Entler, Stepson Kermit Stambaugh, Step grandson Justin Stambaugh, and siblings Lee Brent, Carol Robinson and Paula Sipe.
A public viewing will be held at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. (24 N. Second St. New Freedom, PA 17349) on Friday February 13, 2026, from 6:00PM – 8:00PM.
A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 10:00AM.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the New Freedom VFW.
