Lee Smith

d. June 8, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lee Smith of Stewartstown, PA on June 8, 2026, at the age of 78. Lee passed away following a rapidly progressive neurological illness, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, surrounded by her loving husband and daughters.

Lee was born on November 15, 1947, in Baltimore, MD. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her unwavering generosity, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her.

On August 5, 1967 she married Kenneth Everett Smith. Together, they shared 58 years of beautiful memories, building a home filled with love and family traditions. She was a dedicated mother who always put her family first, finding her greatest joy in raising her children and watching her grandchildren grow.

Beyond her family, Lee was passionate about helping others. Her lasting legacy of kindness through her dedication to uplifting those in need and advocating for the welfare of all animals will always be remembered. She was known for her immaculate home and her meticulously landscaped yard.

Lee leaves behind a legacy of love and is survived by her husband, Kenneth Smith; her children, Danielle Smith and Heather Fitzpatrick and son-in-law Matt Fitzpatrick; her cherished grandchildren, Ian Hargreaves and his fiance Paige Baughman and Gwenyth Fitzpatrick; and countless other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

To honor Lee’s memory, the family suggests memorial contributions to the CJD Foundation to support research and assist affected families and/or the Animal Shelter in New Freedom, PA.
