Linda McElwain

On Monday, May 11, 2026, Linda Joyce McElwain passed away at Wellspan York Hospital. Linda is survived by her husband Bruce Stephen “Steve” McElwain. Linda was the loving mother of son Brian McElwain and daughter Leslie Jurado (husband Richard). Also surviving Linda is her grandson Owen Jurado and a sister, Susan Dootson and her son, Jonathan.

Linda was born in Havre de Grace, Maryland on March 4. 1953 to parents Ross Thompson Monks and Doris Pawnee Adams. Linda began her professional banking career in 1995 at the former Daughin Deposit and Allfirst branches of the now M&T Bank. Linda retired from M&T Bank at the end of 2017 at the age of 64 (and three-quarters) years.

Linda was a dedicated member of Centre Presbyterian Church and her angelic voice was prominently featured in the Centre Church choir. Linda served on the Womens Council of Centre Church and also was a Member of “Eastern Star”. In the early 1990’s, Linda volunteered at Norrisville Elementary School (Go Jags!) and the Norrisville branch of the Harford County Public Library. Linda “Loved her Pets”… Over the years, Linda’s Life was blessed with somewhere around 5 different dogs and at least one cat. Linda cherished the Life and Love she built with her husband Steve and her family.

A funeral service for Linda Joyce McElwain will be held at Centre Presbyterian Church (83 New Park Rd. New Park, PA 17352) on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Paul Simmons Officiating. Interment to follow at Centre Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
