Margaret B. Wheeler

Margaret B. Wheeler (née Hunt), 96, of Parkton, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Brightview Westminster. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late E. Ambrose and Florence (McCoy) Hunt. Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Edward Lee Wheeler, who preceded her in death in 1998.

Margaret was a longtime and faithful member of Stablers Church in Parkton. She also enjoyed participating in Bible Study. She was actively involved with the Hereford Alumni Committee and was honored with the Hereford Alumni Recognition Award. Margaret enjoyed gardening, cooking, and caring for her home and property. Known for her strength and independence, she cherished her family and friends and will be remembered for her devotion, resilience, and warm spirit. She retired in 1994 as Senior Vice President of Sparks Bank after a successful career in banking.

Margaret is survived by her children: Joanne W. Hilton; David L. Wheeler and his wife Annette; and Randy M. Wheeler and his wife Betsy. She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, William Hilton, and her brother, Morris R. Hunt.

Family and friends may gather for a viewing on Saturday, December 27, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second Street, New Freedom, Pennsylvania.
