Mark A. Cheek, of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully from this world and into the next on January 1, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family. Mark was a devoted son, husband, father, and Pop Pop, whose greatest joys in life came from the people he loved and the life he lived alongside them. He showed his love not only through words, but through presence – through shared moments, laughter, and making memories that will be carried on for generations. His family was his greatest accomplishment and his proudest legacy.
Mark was a farmer by trade and by heart, devoting his life to caring for the family farm near Glenville. His days were shaped by the steady rhythms of the land. He found meaning in the quiet moments of local life, which included his mornings at Snyder’s Mill, the familiar routine of feeding the cows, and the calm satisfaction that came with watching the sun rise and set over fields he had tended for years. Harvest time was especially dear to him, a season that reflected his patience, hard work, and deep respect for the land that sustained both his family and his community.
Beyond the fields, he carried an adventurous spirit that often surprised and delighted those who knew him well. He loved to travel and seek out new experiences, whether hiking scenic trails, riding roller coasters, or taking on the rush of white-water rafting. He cherished time spent hunting with his family, moments that combined his love of the outdoors with the joy of being together. He also embraced the open sea through deep sea fishing trips shared with friends, finding joy in both the thrill of the adventure and the companionship along the way. Just as meaningful were quieter family traditions, like building sandcastles on the beach, where laughter, teamwork, and simple happiness defined time well spent. Together, these passions painted a full picture of a man who appreciated both life’s quiet moments and its boldest experiences.
Mark is deeply missed by his cherished wife of 40 years, Tina (Rohrbaugh); his son, Brock, and daughter-in-law, Kara; his daughter, Bethany Leydic, and son-in-law, Cory; his five grandchildren, Oliver, Henry, Lydia, Wesley, and Finley; his mother, Betty (Howell); his brothers Ronald and Nathan, and sister-in-law, Angie; and his many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Clyde.
