Mary Ellen Greever

Mary Ellen (Ibbott) Greever, 81, of New Freedom, PA, passed away on August 22, 2025. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Alfred James and Gertrude Mary (Hengemihle) Ibbott. She was the wife of the late Franklin D Greever for 52 years until he passed November 7, 2020.

Mary worked at Hochschild Kohn’s, Continental Canning Company, Western Electric for 5 years, Point Breeze for 12+ years and lastly at Walmart in the Health and Beauty dept. for 7 yrs. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, nature watching, cooking, jigsaw puzzles, sewing, & watching western and WWII movies.

She is survived by her three daughters Marian E. Greever, Janice L. Greever, and Diana F. (Greever) McFeaters, son-in-law John F. McFeaters; a granddaughter, Samantha, siblings Jean (Ibbott) Heiner, Alfred Ibbott Jr. “Ginger”, Michael Ibbott, Linda (Ibbott) Harris, Raymond Ibbott, Claire (Ibbott) Gurney, William Ibbott, Martin Ibbott, Donna Ibbott, Richard Ibbott, Kathleen (Ibbott) Sacco, and a multitude of nieces & nephews.

A Viewing will be held on Saturday, August 30,2025, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, PA 17349. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens, Baltimore, MD.
