Mary Frances Lane, 102, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at home. She was the loving wife of the late John Leslie Lane who died July 13, 2002. There will be a public viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, with a funeral service starting at 10 a.m. with the Rev. James Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York. Mary was born January 18, 1915, in Hellam, the daughter of the late George S. and Frances Mae (Matthews) Markel. She had worked at two local canning houses, Lucky and Wel-Don. Mary was a member of the Woodbine Believers Assembly and was faithful in reading her Bible every day. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and reading. Surviving is one daughter, Lois Ann Lane of Fawn Grove; three granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Noonkester; her son-in-law, Elbert Noonkester; and siblings, Florence, Edwin, David, William, Elsie, and Ruth.
