On Thursday, July 27, 2017, Mary Anna (Costa) Mays, 80, passed away at her residence. She was the wife of the late Claude Mays. Mary was born March 29, 1937 in Phoenix, MD to the late Joseph and Emma Mae (Agee) Costa. She worked for ACME Grocery from age 17 until she retired. She was a member of Shrewsbury Assembly of God and loved going to church. She also loved shopping, growing tomatoes and selling them at her little roadside table, and decorating for the Christmas season. She hosted many large holiday meals for the family at her house. Surviving her is one sister, Esther Dill of New Freedom; one brother Morris Costa of Plant City, FL; many nieces, nephews and her beloved dog, Snuggles. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Robert, Charles and Steve Costa; and sisters, Lillie Boyd and Doris Fisher. Public viewing will be from 6 to 8pm on Monday, July 31 at Shrewsbury Assembly of God, 234 N. Main St., Shrewsbury, PA 17361 where a funeral service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, August 1. Interment will follow in New Freedom Cemetery. Pastor Jason Tourville will officiate.
